Highlighted Custom: 24” California Golf State
This unique project was a gift for an avid golfer’s 60th birthday. We started with our standard 24” California state and applied golf-inspired colors, including textured sand pieces. We embedded a real golf club into the piece and added a protruding fairway piece to hold a Titlest golf ball. They attended the US Open for his birthday, so we stenciled the Open logo in the area where the tournament was held. A ball marker is located in the vicinity of his home course. To top it off, we had the piece autographed by a number of the pros who played the Open, including Phil Michelson! The back of the piece was also signed by everyone who attended the birthday golf trip.
Highlighted Custom: Vintage Roll-top Desk
This graduation gift started out with exceptional bones…a grandfather’s roll-top desk at which he wrote his sermons. Originally finished in medium cherry stain, this piece was disassembled, cleaned and lightly sanded. The original hardware was removed and polished prior to the reassembly process, and the drawer slides where repaired to bring functionality back to original. The desk was then sprayed in black paint and lightly distressed to expose some of the original cherry stain and wood grain. The signature element is the bible quote stenciled in gold on the desktop. The final step was finishing the piece with satin poly top coat. This is one of our favorite projects.
USA Golf Custom
This custom commemorates the customer’s trip from Michigan to California. After graduating, he accepted a job in California and decided to take a roadtrip with his best friend. They played a round of golf at several different courses along the way. To preserve the memory of the trip, he purchased two logo balls at each course and asked us to create these unique pieces of art which show the path they traveled and the location of the courses they played (note the sand trap areas are covered in actual sand!)
